Garten Verein

Galveston Island Wedding Photography

A fairytale-like, octagonal dancing pavilion on Galveston Island known as “Garten Verein” is one of Galveston’s hidden gems. Built in 1880 by Galveston Island’s German ‘Garten Verein’ (garden club), with Victorian detail and panoramic windows, this grand gazebo has quite a history of endurance. Located in what now is called Kempner Park, the Garten Verein is a lovely setting for romantic weddings, receptions, dinners, and parties for up to 250 people (seated dinner). When the sun goes down and the lights glimmer in and around Garten Verein, it gets even better from a wedding photography standpoint! The Garten Verein transforms into a magical dreamscape! Photographing a wedding at the Garten Verein on Galveston Island has been a fantastic experience for me. Three different weddings and I was able to capture the unique essence of each one. The Garten Verein is perfect for a variety of wedding styles; a vintage-style, Victorian ball fit for a princess, an eco-friendly/do-it-yourself wedding, or a contemporary style with garden club charm. The possibilities are endless!
