HOUSTON FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER

Priceless Portraits Of Your Families Memories, Relationships, and Emotions

If your family means the world to you and you realize how quickly things can change;
If you want to cherish your memories for a lifetime and are looking for heirloom quality portraiture,
the following information is only for you:

Our families are changing so fast, aren’t they? The children have grown so quickly (and yes, they’re still your “children” even though they’re married with kids of their own!) Every birthday, I ask my kids, “Wouldn’t you like to skip this birthday and just stay (whatever their current age is) a little longer?” If only we could just freeze time and hold on to these special moments forever!

Hi, my name is Slava G. Ivanov, and I am dedicated to capturing and preserving wonderful family moments. I’m a professional family photographer, but more than that, I’m a lot like you…family means the world to me!

Do you ever wake up and wonder where the time is going. Does it seem like the older you and your children get, the faster time flies? I’m very blessed – I get to see my children every morning and night, they’re still in school and living at home with us. But High School graduation is just around the corner for the older ones, and I would love to be able to keep them small a little longer!

I find it interesting that the older I get, the more respect I have for the family portrait and it’s importance in documenting the growth of a family.

SGI Photography understands the importance of documenting your family and loved ones in portraits. From newborns to grandparents and everyone in between, my passionate approach to portraiture, meticulous control of lighting and adherence to standards of excellence are reflected in your compelling portraits. I create images that you will take pride in displaying in your home or office. Slava goes ‘above and beyond’ in creating your memorable portrait images. For portraiture that stands the test of time, if you haven’t had a family portrait done in the last 5 years, now is a good time to book a session. Don’t forget about the family pets! Be sure to include them in the family portrait!

Family photographs tell a story. One photograph can be a slice of your family history, but the accumulation of family portraits reveal threads of relationships and themes. They provide an easy topic of conversation especially for new friends (or future in-laws)!

Even if you haven’t given a lot of thought to having a family portrait created. Don’t worry – that’s pretty normal. You’ve got a lot of things going on in your life. Life is busier and crazier than ever! Thankfully, you’re about to discover the most helpful information that most people don’t know about having a professional family portrait created.

Because you’re here right now, you must be at least thinking about having a portrait of your family created. Congratulations! You are about to make a decision that will bring you more joy than you realize! However, there are some things you need to know before you and your loved ones step in front of any camera. By the time you finish reading this single page, you will be fully prepared to make the most important decisions about having a family portrait created!

You may feel that having a family portrait done is going to be a lot of work on your part. Well, it’s not! In fact, that could almost be one of the “myths” right there. As long as you know the information on this site, it will be a wonderful experience.

Myth #1: No One Can GUARANTEE That I Will Love My Family Portraits.

Wrong. It just depends on who creates your family portraits! I believe that no one should ever have to pay for a photograph that isn’t LOVED!

CHECK THIS GUARANTEE OUT:

If your family doesn’t look the most amazing they’ve ever looked together in these photographs. . .
If you don’t cry (tears of joy) when you look at them. . .
Then you don’t pay me for them.

It’s that simple. That’s my personal promise to you. I know these photographs will be completely meaningless to you unless they convey the real emotions and relationships between you and your loved ones. That’s really the only reason to have a family portrait created.

SGI Photography is so confident that the portraits I create for your family will be so incredible, that I am positive they will become your most prized possessions. As in if your house were on fire, you would grab them on the way out of your burning home. This is not arrogance. This is confidence in my God-given gifts and abilities to capture your families real emotions and relationships in portraits like none other. That’s what I have committed to and that’s why I can’t wait to create your family portraits!

So, here is my fabulous double guarantee:

If you are not THRILLED with your photographs – if you are dissatisfied for ANY reason at all, I will do two things for you:

1st – At NO CHARGE, I will photograph your family again, and make sure that anything that wasn’t perfect is fixed, without you paying another cent.

2nd – If, for any reason, I am unable to absolutely thrill you – if I’m unable to create a photograph that you will cherish forever, I will refund every penny you invested in them. The bottom line is that you don’t pay for your photographs unless you love them beyond belief!

Now, if I don’t end up being your photographer, please, for your family’s sake – make absolutely sure your photographer offers this strong of a guarantee. If they are really good, they should back up their work by taking all the risk off of you.

Myth #2: All Family Portraits Are Created Equal

Incorrect. Nothing could be further from the truth. Like most people, you’ve probably had this question in mind, “How exactly do I choose the right photographer?”
You may even have had the thought of asking someone in your family – an uncle, a grandparent, even a friend – who has a ‘good camera’ and is an avid photographer. Why not just ask them to take pictures of your family and save a few bucks?

Price tags cannot be placed on your family’s memories. They will forever be priceless. Why would anyone gamble with those memories? The real question is, “Do you believe a portrait of your family could really mean that much to you?”

If you were sick and had to go to a doctor, would you want the “cheapest” doctor, or the best one? Of course, there’s no question. It’s the same thing with your family portraits.
You could easily find a dozen cheaper photographers in town. But there is so much more to consider than price alone.

Your family portrait photographer should actually CARE about YOUR family memories, not just doing a job.

One of the greatest rewards of my family portrait work is becoming a family friend of the families I photograph. Some families have practically adopted me like a long lost relative! 🙂
One thing is for sure, I didn’t get into photography for the money. It cost me an arm and a leg to invest in my love of photography! I was NASA engineer for many years, and photography was my ‘fun time’! I chose to become a professional family and wedding photographer because I knew that all the money in the world meant nothing to me if I didn’t feel like I was making a difference in the lives of families.

I realized that memories are priceless – that being a ‘memory – giver’ is invaluable.

I didn’t become a photographer because I liked to take pictures. Don’t get me wrong, I do like the “art” of photography, but that’s NOT the reason I first picked up a camera.
Growing up, my father was a photographer. I remember him bundling me up in the dead of a Russian winter to do a photo session with me out in the snow among the birch trees. Everywhere we went, the camera went, and my dad was stopping us every few feet to pose for a new picture. I watched, and learned, he instructed me, but I viewed it at first as only a hobby.

My entire time growing up, I can’t remember a single day my father didn’t photograph me, my mom, my sister, our friends, or neighbors. However, I never really cherished the portraits he was creating of my family’s life. . . until I got older. Now, those times and portraits mean the world to me.

Earlier this year, my father went home to be with the Lord. He was my best friend. I now treasure the memory of the moments in those photographs even more. Now that my father has passed away, those images have become priceless to me. I can’t even begin to imagine what it would be like not to have those portraits. I look at them every day – they are some of my most prized possessions.

Time is the one thing that none of us have enough of. It’s the one thing that money can’t buy. It’s the one thing that we all would give just about anything for. Through photography, we can hold on to the moments in our lives for just a little while longer. And, if done correctly, these same photographs can become works of art that we display in our homes for everyone to see and share.

Myth #3 : Family Portraits Have To Look Formal and Be Created In A Professional Studio

If you’re like most people, when you think of a PROFESSIONAL family portrait, you’re thinking ‘Olan Mills-style’ with all of the family gathered in a tiny, stuffy studio in front of a background that looks sort of like a black hole, posed uncomfortably and unnaturally, all saying “cheese” as the photographer snaps the picture and the flash blinds everyone. Well, isn’t that a family moment to cherish for a lifetime? Ha! While it may be an image of the physical members of your family together, it can never capture the real togetherness of your family relationships ~ between a Mama and her firstborn son, Daddy and his baby girl ~ the love and affection you all have for one another!

Instead, imagine all of you getting ready to go out for a fun family outing. Everyone is wearing the cutest, most comfortable outfits that your personal family photographer helped you to pick out. Your family can’t wait to spend some time together walking on the beach collecting shells, picnic in a beautiful park, or just play and hang out in the backyard that you’ve recently landscaped! Everyone feels relaxed and it makes all the difference in the way your true family spirit shines through a family portrait!

Taking the quality time to do a fun, family-friendly photo session will actually benefit your family in more ways than one! Your family will have a blast, and the memories of the fun time spent together will be captured in heirloom quality portraits!

SGI Photography wants every family member to feel comfortable in front of the camera!

Almost everyone I meet tells me that they are not photogenic, or never look natural in their pictures. No one wants a photograph where family members have that fake “posed” look on your face! That’s why it’s so important that you feel comfortable with your photographer. Having a good relationship with your family photographer will make a HUGE difference in the results of your family portraits. There is a ‘psychology of photography’ as well; the technical aspects which I understand and employ to help make every family member look and feel comfortable and look natural in photographs. Saying “cheese” is a surefire way of getting fake and unnatural expressions! I converse and coach in a way that allows individuals to open up and show their natural expressions. I love it. You will see the difference! People who have warned me in advance that they ‘always squint one eye’ or ‘never smile naturally’ in pictures are amazed that by allowing SGI Photography to work with them, they smiled beautifully, naturally, and with even both eyes smiling – not squinting!

Myth #4: “I have no idea where we should have our family portrait taken or what we should wear!”

Have no fear, help is here! SGI Photography will be more than happy to advise you on all of those little details.

My years of experience preparing families for portraits and photographing families is at your service!

Okay, by now you have probably been considering having your family portrait done for quite some time. You may now even be considering SGI Photography to be your family photographer – but please don’t make that decision just yet.

No matter who creates your photographs for you, you will need to make some very critical decisions. What articles of clothing should each family member wear? At which location should this special portrait be created? How should the women in the portrait do their makeup? There are a number of things to think about, and SGI Photography is here to help walk you through your decisions.

Myth #5: There’s no rush to take our family portrait right now.

You know how things are. If you don’t pick up the phone right now, and at least call me to chat about your family portrait, you will probably get swamped with other things, and forget all about it. Then, before you know it, a year – two years – five years have gone by. How different will your family be then?

Your baby has already taken his first steps! It won’t be long before he’s learning to ride a bike! If you blink, he’ll be getting his driver’s license and graduating from high school…getting married…and starting a family of his own!

More than ever in 2011, family life seems to be happening at an accelerating pace!

Time flies! We will never get to relive this very moment again! Although times change, people change and circumstances change – taking the time to have your family portrait made will be a moment you can freeze in time and keep for years and generations to come!

I know you’re tempted to put this on your ‘to do list’, but you know how life is – things get busy with work and school – and before we know it, another year has gone by and you’re wishing you wouldn’t have put things off! How much our families can change in a year!

Before you let another day go by, why not give SGI Photography a call and take advantage of a free consultation about planning your family portrait session!
