Preparing for your Senior Portrait Session!

Select outfits that express who you are (formal and/or casual)
- solid colors and sleeves photograph best
Complete your outfits with shoes, socks, and accessories that compliment the style and color of your outfits.
Iron/dry clean wrinkled clothes before your session.
Consider personalizing your portraits by including your special interests in some of your poses.
- for example: letter jackets, uniforms, sports equipment, and musical instruments, etc. However, a car will be considered a ‘backdrop’ and not a ‘prop’!  
Limit sun exposure prior to your portrait session. Avoid burns or tan lines.
Drink plenty of water get a good night’s sleep!
Friends and family are welcome to attend your photo session.

GIRLS:
Paint your nails (clear or neutral colors work best)
Style your hair with a comfortable style you know looks good before your session. Bring brush, handheld mirror, hair accessories, etc. if desiring a change of hairstyle with a different outfit.
Apply concealer and powder if necessary to minimize blemishes and then don’t worry about it! Complimentary portrait retouching on your final order can eliminate minor blemishes.
Apply make-up before you arrive (in outdoor sunlight, less makeup is more flattering) and bring product to session for touch-ups if necessary.

GUYS:
Trim nails
Style your hair before your session and bring a comb or brush for touch-ups if necessary.
- consider getting a haircut approximately one week prior to your session
Shave before your session.

SGI Photography portrait sessions for High School Seniors are fun and flattering!
You’ve accomplished a lot and now it’s time for the celebrations to begin!

It may be tempting to save a few bucks and let ‘Aunt Pearl’ take your senior pictures. She’s got a good camera! While you may love and appreciate  Aunt Pearl, you might not love the results very much. How are you going to break it to your dear Aunt that you had to have your portraits re-done by a professional photographer after all? Senior portraits are just too important to DIY!
